Divorce & Custody Mediation Attorney in Baytown, Texas

Helping You Find Ways to Resolve Divorce Issues Cooperatively

If your marriage is over, but you have minor children, you will have to maintain some type of relationship with your ex-spouse for years, perhaps even after your children are grown. For that reason, you may want to find ways to settle your differences that don’t lead to bitterness and acrimony. Divorce Mediation can often help you do this.

In mediation, you work with a neutral third party whose role is to help you and your ex-spouse find mutually beneficial ways to resolve custody, visitation, support, and property matters. In the mediation process, you always have the right to reject an offer or proposal from your ex-spouse, so you have a lot more input and control over the final outcome. In addition, mediation typically does not involve discovery, the introduction of evidence, or legal rulings, so that process is less complex, less time-consuming, and less expensive.

If you want to explore mediation as an alternative to the traditional divorce process, attorney Linda Stewart and the many highly qualified mediators conveniently located in or near Baytown, Texas can help.

Our Mediation Practice

We do not act as mediators in family law matters, but will be your counsel in any mediation process. We will carefully explain how mediation works and how you can use the process most effectively. We will attend mediation with you and will be your advocate whenever necessary, so that your interests are fully protected.

As the mediation process unfolds, we will help you evaluate proposed settlement agreements from your spouse, as well as any counteroffers you want to make. If you are able to successfully resolve your differences in mediation, we will carefully review any agreement to ensure that it accurately states the terms of your settlement.
